Emma Carper, age 95, a resident of Albany, Indiana, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 at Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Albany; she was a former resident of Cocoa, Florida from 1956 to 2003.
Emma was born December 3, 1929 in Hans Creek, West Virginia, the daughter of Sam and Mary (Suttle) Brown. Emma graduated from Peterstown High School in West Virginia and received her Associates Degree from Beckley Secretarial College in Beckley, West Virginia. She was a Book Keeper at Nixson Furniture Company in Beckley, West Virginia and Church Secretary at 1st Christian Church in Cocoa, Florida. Emma and her husband Roy were the founding members of the 1st Christian Church in Cocoa, Florida, and she was a beloved babysitter for many years. Emma was an avid quilter, and enjoyed gardening. Emma attended West Walnut Church of Christ in Portland, Indiana.
Emma married Roy Carper on June 5, 1954 he passed away on June 3, 1969.

Daniel Carper – Raleigh, North Carolina
Kristen Hess-Smith (husband Garrett) – Hartford City, Indiana
Kelly Hess-Hammond (husband Dustin) – Dunkirk, Indiana
Kurt Hess (Carly) – Celina, Ohio
7 great grandchildren: Cooper and Carson Cooke, Emma and Anni Hammond, Dakota Smith,
Darci May and Bo Hess
She was preceded in death by five siblings – Carl, Erma, Neva, Clendal, and Gene
Funeral services for family and friends will be held at a later date
