Esther Shaneyfelt

Esther Marie Shaneyfelt, age 67, a resident of Portland, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at her home.

Esther was born May 25, 1957 in New Castle, Indiana the daughter of Roy Eugene DeBruler and Carol (DeBruler) Smith. Esther retired from Jay School Corporation in the Bus Barn after 20 years plus of years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo for many years and her cats Nibby and Otis

Esther married Gary Shaneyfelt on May 12, 1973 and he passed away on October 20, 2010.

Survivors Include:

2 daughters: Heather Lopez (husband Valentin) – Portland, Indiana

Carrie Shaneyfelt (companion Brady Shively) – Salamonia, Indiana

A son: Jeremy Shaneyfelt (husband James Beasley) – Muncie, Indiana

Sister: Sharon King (husband Timothy) – Connecticut

Brother: Jimmy Thompson (wife Anita) – Milton, Indiana

Grandchildren Carmen, Gavino (wife Sydney), Mariana Lopez, Kathryn Shaneyfelt, and Donovan Fry

She was preceded in death by one brother Kenneth DeBruler

Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-8 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery.
