Eveline Smith
January 21, 1916 — November 22, 2015
Eveline Smith, age 99, a former Portland resident passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland. She graduated in 1935 from Poling High School and received her BA degree from Earlham College. She was a State law librarian in Cheyanne, Wyoming for 8 years and was a teacher and librarian for 18 years in the Marion City Schools. She was a member of the Jay County Historical Society and the Jay County Hospital Auxiliary.
Eveline Smith was born January 21, 1916 in Penn Twp. Jay County the daughter of Leslie and Gladys (Crampton) Hunt. She was married in 1939 to A. Dale Smith and he passed away in 1986.
Survivors Include:
1 Son- David Smith (wife-Sandra), San Antonio, Texas
3 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
