Garnet J. Franks
February 10, 1922 — July 4, 2013
Garnet J. Franks, age 91 passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana. She was a long time resident of Jackson Township, Jay County. She retired in 1988 from CTS in Berne. She also worked at B and G Pools and Spas in Portland. She was a 1941 graduate of Madison Twp. School in Jay County. She was a life member of the Portland American Legion Post 211 Auxillary. She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Portland.
Garnet Franks was born February 10. 1922 in Darke Co., Ohio the daughter of John and Maggie (Colliflower) Lehymann. She was married in 1942 to Robert E. Franks Sr. and he passed away in 1997.
Survivors Include:
1 Son- Robert "Bob" Franks Jr. (wife-Gail), Bryant, Indiana
4 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren
Several Nieces and Nephews
1 Daughter deceased- Barbara Jean Franks
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-5pm at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Portland with visitation 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Pastor Jason Rice will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Center Cemetery west of Portland.
