Gary Wade Mccowan

Gary McCowan, age 40, a former Redkey resident, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at his home in Albany.
Gary was born on June 1, 1975 in Portland, the son of Arthur Gary and Betty Louann (Cline) McCowan. He graduated in 1993 from Jay County High School. Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was a member of the Redkey American Legion.
Survivors include:
1 daughter: Tasha McCowan – Redkey, Indiana
2 sons: Elijah McCowan – Redkey, Indiana
Jacob McCowan – Redkey, Indiana
1 sister: Jackie Sheridan (husband Tim) – Ft. Recovery, Ohio
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed towards the family to help with funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
