Gene Imel
September 29, 1935 — April 1, 2015
Gene Imel, age 79, a resident of Noble Twp., Jay County passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Jay County Hospital in Portland. He was a 1955 graduate of Portland High School and a veteran of the US Army. He retired from Teledyne Portland Forge in 1998 after 37 years.
Gene was born September 29, 1935 in Jay County, Indiana the son of Russell and Marie (Harness) Imel. He was married June 15, 1967 to Marjorie Kohler and she passed away April 6, 2013.

3 Daughters- Tina Miller (husband-Steve), Portland, Indiana
Jane Imel, Portland, Indiana
Kay Williams (husband-Randy), Portland, Indiana
1 Brother- Carl Imel (wife-Donna), Portland, Indiana
6 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren
1 Daughter deceased- Cheryl Teeple
Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm on Monday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Larry Eads will officiate the services. American Legion Post 211 will conduct military rites at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date in Antioch Cemetery southeast of Portland.
