Harold Walter

Harold E. Walter, age 96 a resident of Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion, Indiana passed away Friday, December 31, 2021.  He farmed with his family in Jackson Twp., Jay County for many years..  He was a veteran of the US. Army and served his country in WWII.

Harold Walter was born April 23, 1925 in Jay County, Indiana the son of Arlet and Lena (Siders) Walter.  He was married on July 25, 1943 to Bernadette Schwartzkopf and she preceded him in death on December 14, 1993.

Survivors Include:

1 Son- John E. Walter (wife-Jill), Pennville, Indiana

1 Daughter- Bonnie Wable (husband-Gary), Portland, Indiana

2 Sisters- Mary Swearman, Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Martha Brosher (husband-Ivan), Yorktown, Indiana

9 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Walter, 3 brothers, Ray, Vern and Elmer Walter and a sister, Virginia Myron.

Private graveside services for the family of  Harold Walter will be held at the IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.  Pastor Joe Schmit will officiate the services.  Portland American Legion Post 211 will be in charge of military graveside rites.
