Helen L. Starr

Helen L. Starr, age 91, a resident of rural Ridgeville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Jay County Hospital in Portland.
Helen was born on March 27, 1921, in Randolph County, Indiana, the daughter of Chalmer and Grace (Peters) Rickert. She and her husband farmed in Ward Township, Randolph County for many years. She attended the Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene. Helen married Ellis E. Starr on October 14, 1939, and he passed away on July 13, 1991.
Survivors include:
1 son: Duane Starr (wife Patty) - rural Portland, Indiana
4 granchildren, Shawndra Nicodemus (husband Jason), Brent Starr, Jessica Starr and Jonathan Starr
1 great granddaughter: Lindsey Nicodemus
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Dennis Kelley will conduct the services. Burial will follow in the Weimer Cemetery, east of Deerfield.
