Janet Ann (Poling) Farber
January 28, 1940 — March 7, 2016
Janet Ann Farber, age 76, a resident of Portland, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016
at Jay County Hospital. She was a 1958 graduate of Portland High School. Janet worked at CTS in Berne for 17 years and was a caregiver for many years. She attended The Rock Church in
Portland and was a member of Psi Iota Xi sorority of Portland.
Janet was born on January 28, 1940, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Forrest Poling and Grace May (Gibson). She married Richard “Dick” Farber on March 29, 1959. Dick passed away on September 17, 2009.
Survivors include:
2 Sons: Bradley S. Farber (wife Julie) – Noblesville, Indiana
Jeffrey W. Farber (wife Shannon) – Gaston, Indiana
1 Daughter: Lisa Cook (husband Mark) – Bryant, Indiana
5 Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Farber and her son Mitchell Farber.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 11-2 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Jeff Horsman will officiate the service and burial will follow at Green Park Cemetery in Portland. Memorials may be directed to the Jay County Cancer Society or the Jay County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
