Janice D Guntle

August 5, 1960 — May 7, 2017

Janice D. Guntle, age 56 passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home in Portland. She owned and operated Jan’s Affordable Furniture in Portland for many years.  She and her husband also owned Affordable Motors in Portland.   She was a member of the Walnut Corner Church in Greene Twp. and attended the Pennville United Methodist Church.  She was a 1977 graduate of Blackford County High School.

Janice Guntle was born August 5, 1960 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of Robert and Catherine (Mattingley) Turner.  She was married to Larry Guntle on March 31, 1979.

Survivors Include:

Her beloved husband- Larry Guntle, Portland, Indiana

3 Sons- Stephen Guntle, Indianapolis, Indiana

Clayton Guntle (companion-Barb Caylor), Deerfield, Indiana

Spencer Guntle (wife-Elaina), Portland, Indiana

2 Daughters- Amanda Frontz (husband-Chuck), Portland, Indiana

Misty Hiday (husband-Todd “Toad”), Portland, Indiana

1 Sister- Rhonda Cole (husband-David), Linton, Indiana

Father in law- Larry Guntle, Portland, Indiana

Mother in law- Loretta Smith (husband-Darrell), Redkey, Indiana

22 Grandchildren including Katherine Guntle,  3 Great Grandchildren

Several nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Wednesday at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral home in Portland.  Pastor Steve Rogers and Pastor Gary Phillips will officiate the services.  Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.

Memorials may be directed to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
