Jay Rupe

Jay Rupe, age 74, a resident of Portland, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at his home.  He was a former resident of Bryant.

Jay was born on September 13, 1949, in Portland, the son of Melvin Rupe and Charlotte (Burkey) Rupe-Morehous.  He graduated from Portland High School and worked at UTA in Berne.  He was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam.

2 sisters:  Betty Mann (husband Terry) – Berne, Indiana

Jackie Kowal (husband Ron) – Aurora, Colorado

Grandchildren:  Harlie Hiestand, Elaina Whitehead and Tamara Whitehead

Great-Grandson:  Alex Hiestand

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Rupe and Charlotte Morehous; brother, Max Rupe and step-mother, Margaret Rupe.

Private burial will be held at Center Cemetery, west of Portland.
