Jerry Hartley

Jerry J. Hartley, age 67, a resident of Portland, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Jerry was born on March 5, 1951, in Jay County, the son of William and Grace (Abbot) Hartley.  He graduated from Portland High School and worked for Micro-Matic in Berne.  Jerry was an avid archery shooter teaching many children the sport.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  Jerry married Sue Carlin on July 7, 1969.

His wife of 49 years:  Sue Hartley – Portland, Indiana

1 daughter:  Jody Lee (husband Lester) – Portland, Indiana

1 son:  Terry Hartley (wife Jennifer) – Portland, Indiana

6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

A celebration of life visitation will be held on Monday from 3-5 p.m. at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  Burial will follow at a later date in Lawndale Cemetery, east of Ridgeville.
