Jerry Lee Shirk

Jerry Lee Shirk, age 84, a resident of Portland, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Albany Health and Rehab in Albany.

Jerry was born on September 1, 1938, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Clarrel and Anabel (Wood) Shirk.  He graduated from Portland High School in 1956 worked for Coca-Cola in Portland for 27 years and retired from Berne Tube in Berne after 27 years of service.  He served in the National Guard for 8 years.  Jerry married Sue Denney on May 3, 1958.

His wife of 64 years:  Sue Shirk – Portland, Indiana

1 son:  Rick Shirk (wife Jane) – Charlotte, Michigan

1 daughter:  Jari Counterman (husband Bruce) – Portland, Indiana

3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren

Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
