Jesse Bentz

Jesse Bentz, age 79, a resident of Portland, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.

Jesse was born on February 20, 1943, in Portland, the son of Jesse and Mary Jane (Snyder) Bentz.  He graduated from Madison Township School in 1961 and served in the U.S. Army.  He was member of the Portland American Legion Post #211, Portland Moose Lodge and VFW in Fort Recovery.

Survivors include:

2 daughters:  Janet Rife (husband Chuck) – Washington

Jean Loper (husband Jerry) – Portland, Indiana

1 sister:  Carrol Manor – Salamonia, Indiana

7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Joseph “Joe” Bentz.

Private graveside services will be held at Green Park Cemetery in Portland.  American Legion Post #211 will conduct military graveside rites.

Arrangements entrusted to Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
