John Loper

John Loper Sr., age 79, a resident of Portland, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at his home.

John was born April 29, 1946, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Charles and Helen (Twigg) Loper. John worked for Standard Brush and Broom for 33 years and then worked for FCC in Portland from 2001-2012. He was also a former member of the Moose Lodge in Portland.

John married Peggy Loper on March 4, 1966 and she passed away on August 18, 2013.

Survivors Include:

3 sons: John Loper Jr. (wife Marcia) – Columbia City, Indiana

Randy Loper – Fort Wayne, Indiana

Jeremy Loper (wife Jeannie) – Portland, Indiana

3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren

Visitation will be held Friday from 2-6 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family request casual dress at the funeral home.
