John Wolford, age 89, a resident of Muncie, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was a former Bryant and Portland resident.
John was born on April 22, 1925, in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Oliver B. and Rosie (Davis) Wolford. He graduated from Bryant High School and later from Indiana University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Italy during World War II. He was assigned to the 361 st Regiment, 91 st Division of the U.S. Army. He worked in advertising for The Commercial Review in Portland, The Muncie Star Press, Hartford City News Times and The Courier-Times in New Castle. John married Nilah Runyon on November 26, 1945.

Debbie Stow – Anderson, Indiana
6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wolford
Visitation will be on Sunday from 12-2 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Darrel Borders will officiate and burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
