John Jay Woolslager, age 59, a resident of Portland, passed away on Saturday November 15, 2014 at his home.
John was born on October 26, 1955, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Joseph H. and Betty A. (Stults) Woolslager. He graduated from Portland High School and received an Associated degree in electronic engineering from ITT Tech in Ft. Wayne, Indiana
He worked at Ligget’s in Portland Indiana, John also worked at Classic Stereo and ITT Aerospace & Defense in Fort Wayne Indiana. John was a member of the Jay County Amateur Radio, and active with the Jay County Emergency Management, and the local Cub Scouts. He was married on June 6, 1976 to Betty M. Bisel and she passed away on December 22, 2012.

Mother- Betty A. Woolslager, Bellfountaine, Indiana
1 Grandson- Krystyen Sowder, 2 Granddaughters- Stacy and Jillian Woolslager
1 Nephew, 1 Great Nephew and 1 Great Niece
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 9-12 a.m. and 2-6 p.m. in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home In Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 22 at 2 p.m. in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Darrel Borders will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.
