Juanita Fern Fennig, age 90, a resident of rural Bryant in Bearcreek Township, Jay County, passed away on Tuesday, November 04, 2014, at Crownpointe of Portland.
Juanita was born on July 15, 1924, in Wells County, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse L. and Ora (Sawyer) Nusbaumer. She graduated from Petroleum High School in 1942. She and her husband farmed in Bearcreek Township, Jay County for many years. She was a member of the Westchester United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Women’s Mission Society. She was also a member of the Carriage Travel Club, NCHA Campers and Limberlost Camping Club. Juanita traveled to Mississippi and Louisiana with her church after Hurricane Katrina to help with disaster relief efforts on three occasions.
She was married to Rolland Fennig for 60 years, from February 27, 1944 until his passing on July 6, 2004.

3 sons: Barry L. Fennig (wife Pam) – rural Bryant, Indiana
Stephen W. Fennig (wife Terry) – rural Bryant, Indiana
Randall G. Fennig (wife Toni) – rural Portland, Indiana
2 sisters: Phyllis Grover (husband Herbert) – Warren, Indiana
Donna Stanton (husband Ted) – Arcadia, Florida
13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Connie Fennig.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Westchester United Methodist Church, 4487 E. 400 N., Portland, Indiana 47371. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
Memorials may be directed towards the Westchester United Methodist Church-Mozambique Education Fund (Katey’s Boys).
