Larry Marchal

Larry Marchal, age 72, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at Celina Manor Nursing Home in Celina, Ohio

Larry was born on August 1, 1947, in Celina, Ohio, the son of Odus and Esther (Braun) Marchal.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam with the 9th Infantry Division.  Larry farmed in Jay County for several years and worked for the Jay County Highway Department.  He also worked for Wallisheck Excavating, Klingshirn and Sons Trucking. He was a member of Fort Recovery Catholic Church in Fort Recovery, Ohio, Fort Recovery VFW, the Fort Recovery American Legion, and Salamonia Volunteer Fire Department.

Larry married Winifred Beals on April 16, 1977.

2 sisters: Mary Ann Mangen (partner Chris) – Amhurst, Wisconsin

Theresa Baucher (husband Mike) – Celina, Ohio

1 brother: Mike Marchal (wife Dee) – Portland, Indiana

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Thomas and Donald Marchal

Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday April 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fort Recovery, Ohio, with visitation from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home in Portland. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.
