Leonard Betz
February 3, 1930 — August 21, 2013
Leonard Betz, age 83, a resident of Portland passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He retired from New Idea Corporation in Coldwater, Ohio. He was a US Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Portland American Legion Post 211 where he served in the honor guard and was a member of the 40&8. He was also a member of the Portland Moose Lodge.
Leonard was born February 3, 1930 in Noble Twp., Jay County the son of Arthur and Elva (Guiff) Betz.
Survivors Include:
1 Daughter- Lisa Lawhead, Portland, Indiana
2 Sons- John Betz, Redkey, Indiana
Harold Betz (wife-Teresa), Ft. Recovery, Ohio
3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm Friday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Pastor Hugh Kelly will officiate the services and burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery. American Legion Post 211 will be in charge of military graveside rites at the cemetery.
