Lillian Crump

Lillian Crump, age 96, a resident of Portland, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

Lillian was born on February 23, 1929 in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of John and Lulu (Lawhorn) Newton. Lillian retired from CTS in Berne after over 30 years of service. Lillian married Lester Crump on June 3, 1949 he passed away on June 10, 1980.

Survivors Include:

Son: Samuel Crump – Portland, Indiana

Daughter: Peggy Dieterle (husband Roger) – Greenwood, Indiana

2 brothers: Robert Newton – Eaton, Indiana

Timothy Newton – Jay County, Indiana

4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild

She was preceded in death by her brothers John Newton Jr, Richard Newton, Rex Newton, and George Newton, her sisters Patty Willover and Mary Newton.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
