Lowell W. Watkins, age 79 of Indianapolis and a former resident of Berne and Jay County passed away Sunday evening, January 26, 2014 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was a former member of the Berne First Church of the Nazarene and current member of the Indianapolis South West Church of the Nazarene. He retired in 2001 from Textron Co. in Berne after 27 years. He was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard. He attended Purdue University and was an avid golfer and bowler. Lowell was a member of the Gideon’s International.
Lowell Watkins was born March 16, 1934 in Portland, Indiana the son of Owen and Ada (Wallace) Watkins. He was married in 1955 to (Emma) Jean Nelson who survives.

Sharon Holmes (husband-Clyde), Huntington, Indiana
Linda Watkins. Indianapolis, Indiana
4 Grandchildren

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Keith E. Grove D.D., Pastor Wayne Steury and Rev. Darwin Pressler will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Farmland, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed to the Berne First Church of the Nazarene, Indianapolis SW Church of the Nazarene, or Gideon's International.
