Madison E. Weaver, age 24, a resident of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel, Indiana.

Madison was born November 26, 2001, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Travis and Holly (Penrod) Weaver. She attended Jay County High School.

From the very beginning of her life, Madison faced extraordinary medical challenges with a quiet courage that inspired everyone who knew her. Though her journey was never easy, she showed us what true strength and resilience looked like. She was known for her joyful smile and infectious belly laugh that could brighten even the hardest days. She loved her family and caregivers, enjoyed being around little kids, watching Disney movies, and listening to audiobooks and music. We are profoundly grateful for the privilege of being her family and caring for her the last 24 years. We find comfort in knowing she is finally free---whole, healed, and no longer limited by the challenges that accompanied her throughout her life.

Although she never spoke a single word, she taught us that love doesn’t require a voice, that strength is often quiet, and that a life can profoundly change others through perseverance and grace. Her life was a remarkable testament to the truth that a person’s voice is not measured by the words they speak, but by the love they leave behind. She will be deeply missed and loved beyond measure.

Visitation to celebrate Madison’s life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 3-6 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
