Madonna J. Betz

Madonna J. Betz, age 93 a former Salamonia resident passed away Monday morning in the IU Health Jay Hospital in Portland.  She was a resident of Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Centre in Portland.  She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in Madison Twp. Jay County for many years.  She worked at Jay Garment Company in Portland for 11 years.

Madonna Betz was born March 23, 1925 in Salamonia, Indiana the daughter of Ezra and Hazel (Kimble) Shauver.  She was married on April 19, 1946 to Bazil Betz and he passed away August 9, 2004.

Survivors Include:

2 Sons- Randy Betz, Bryant, and Gary Betz (wife-Vickie), Portland

1 Brother- Howard Shauver, Gulf Breeze, Florida

3 Sisters- Ramona Lee, Anderson, Geraldine Strock, Warsaw, and Gloria Pfeifer, Salamonia

4 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Betz and a grandson, Andrew Betz.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.

Funeral services for Madonna Betz will be held at 11:00am Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Paul VanCise officiating.  Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.
