Madonna Pauline Borders, age 65, a resident of Pike Township, in rural Jay County, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Madonna was born on October 20, 1950, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Kenneth and Madonna (Longnecker) Pensinger.  She graduated from Portland High School and later graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and earned a Master’s Degree from Southern Illinois University.  She taught for 40 years for the South Adams School Corporation.  Madonna attended the Westchester United Methodist Church and the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where her husband Pastor Darrell Borders serves as Pastor.  She married Darrell Borders on December 21, 1975.

Survivors include:

Her husband of 40 years:  Pastor Darrell Borders – rural Portland, Indiana

1 sister:  Suzann Fenton – Berea, Kentucky

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Westchester United Methodist Church, 4487 E. 400N., Portland, Indiana 47371.  Reverend David Byrum will officiate the services.

Memorials may be directed towards the Westchester United Methodist Church, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or the Jay County Humane Society.
