Maria Fifer

Maria Fifer, age 88, a resident of Bryant, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at Jay County Hospital in Portland.
Maria Fifer was born on June 8, 1928, in Furth im Wald, Germany, the daughter of Martin and Maria (Kummert) Belnarsch. She worked for Jay Garment in Portland for 36 years and was a member of the Geneva VFW Auxiliary. Maria married Ernest Fifer on February 28, 1948 and he passed away on January 29, 1999.

3 sons: Larry Fifer – Bryant, Indiana
Tim Fifer (wife Tracy) – Bryant, Indiana
Ernest Fifer (wife Ruth) – Bryant, Indiana
10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son, Jon L. Fifer and a granddaughter, Melissa Campofiore.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-2:00pm Thursday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Arnold will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
