Marie Shaffer Ross
February 15, 1924 — November 19, 2013
Marie Shaffer Ross, age 89 a resident of Portland and a former Winchester resident passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Jay County Hospital. She was retired from Anchor Hocking in Winchester after 33 years.
Marie Ross was born February 15, 1924 in Jay County, Indiana the daughter of Archa and Grace (Cook) Garringer. In 1940 she married Charles Burk and he passed away in 1965. In 1966 she married Ernest Shaffer and he passed away in 1970. She married Rube Ross in 1975 and he passed away in 1983.

2 Daughters- Barbara E. Mills, rural Portland, Indiana
Cheryl Burkett (husband-Jim), rural Portland, Indiana
5 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and 15 Great Great Grandchildren
Marie had a several family preceded her in death. Her daughter- Emma Joan Burk, Son-in law - Phillip Mills Sr., Grandson- Phillip “Butch” Mark Mills, Jr., 1 Great Grandson- Alexander Anthony Allen Mills
Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Saturday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00pm Saturday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawndale Cemetery west of Deerfield, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed to the family where envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
