Marjorie Harshman, age 87, a resident of Portland, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.. Marjorie was a member of the Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945 She was a life member of the Moose Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion in Montpelier, Marjorie worked for Coca Cola in Portland. She also cleaned houses and worked for Naas Canning Company for many years.
Marjorie was born on September 8, 1928, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Ranck) Sanders. She married Charles R. Harshman on December 3, 1955 and he passed away on January 28, 2005.

2 daughter: Connie (Green) Chowning (Husband Jack) – Portland, Indiana
Linda (Green) Hudson (Husband Rick) – Montpelier, Indiana
7 Grandchildren 13 Great Grandchildren 1 Great Great Grandchild
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Harshman and her son Tom R. Green.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Herb Hummel will officiate the service and burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Pennville. The Montpelier American Legion will conduct military graveside rites. Memorials can be directed to The Jay County Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
