Mary Lu Bye

Mary Lu Bye, age 84 passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at her home in Portland. She was a member of the New Covenant Fellowship Church in Collett. She sang with her family, The Clarence Bailey Trio, and was a secretary for Sheffer Weinland Implement in Portland.
Mary Lu Bye was born January 6, 1932 in Jay County the daughter of Clarence and Thelma (Milligan) Bailey. She was married October 18, 1953 to Merritt Bye.

2 Sons- Terry Bye (wife-Patty), Portland, Indiana
Rodney Bye (wife-Kim), Portland, Indiana
2 Daughters- Kim Williams (husband-Dan), Celina, Ohio
Stacy Newton (husband-Duane), Portland, Indiana
1 Brother- Irwin Bailey (wife- Cheryl) Portland, Indiana
13 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren
1 Sister preceded in death- Jenetta Bailey
Visitation will be held from 1pm-4pm Sunday in the Fellowship Baptist Church, 286 S. 200 W. Portland, Indiana.
Funeral services will follow at 4pm Sunday at the church with Pastor Hugh Kelly officiating the service. Private graveside services will be held on Monday at the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
