Mary Gabbard

April 6, 1924 — May 26, 2015

Mary C. (Crawmer) Gabbard, age 91, a resident of rural Pennville, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Bluffton Regional Hospital in Bluffton, Indiana.

Mary was born on April 6, 1924, in Washington County, Indiana, the daughter of Clark and Lillie (Cole) Callaway.  She retired from Pennville Custom Cabinets in 1989.  Mary belonged to the non-denominational Christian faith to which she entered into as a youth and was very dedicated to, all of her life.  Her spiritual family was very important to her as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with which she loved spending as much time as possible.  She married Alvin Crawmer in 1947 and he passed away in 1961.  She later married Sherman Gabbard in 1989 and he passed away in 2006.

Survivors include:

3 sons:  Dick Crawmer (wife Dorinda) – Martinsville, Indiana

Dave Crawmer (wife Carla) – Lawrenceville, Georgia

Don Crawmer (wife Sherry) – Pennville, Indiana

1 daughter:  Dot Blevins (husband Wayne) – Pennville, Indiana

Grandchildren include Kent Crawmer, Kevin Crawmer, Jeff Crawmer, Julie White, Justin Crawmer, Mary Anne Crawmer, Elise Longnecker, Austin Longnecker, Tim Blevins, Talisha Bloemker, Taylor Blevins, Trent Blevins and Brittany Crawmer.

21 great grandchildren

Preceding her in death are her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, husbands, Alvin Crawmer, father of her children and Sherman Gabbard, along with son Danny Crawmer and great granddaughter, Natalie Crawmer.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  Burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville.
