Michael Bailey, age 47, a resident of Portland, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026 at his home, following an extended illness.

Michael was born June 6, 1978, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Alan and Brenda (Bowers) Bailey. He graduated from Jay County High School and worked at POET in Portland. Michael married Lori Wardlow on April 17, 2010.

His siblings: Sara Nibarger (husband Josh) – Portland, Indiana

Andrew Bailey – Portland, Indiana

Leah Bailey-Ross – Dunkirk, Indiana

6 grandchildren: Drayden, Riley, Emmett, Liam, Anakin and Aurora

11 nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Bailey and a brother, Jeffrey Bailey.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
