Mignon Windmiller

Mignon L. Windmiller, age 88, a former resident of Portland, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana.
Mignon was born on December 13, 1924, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Walter F. and Vivian (Albright) Garinger. She graduated from Portland High School in 1942 and was a member of the Friends Church in Portland for many years. Mignon married Virgil A. Windmiller on March 23, 1947. After Virgil retired from the Portland Post Office, they enjoyed spending winter months in Arizona for many years. Virgil passed away on February 4, 2010.
Surviving family members included one daughter, Janet E. Imel (Donald) from Pierceton, Indiana, one sister, Katherine Michael current in Harlingen, Texas, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mignon will be held on Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Sue Babovec will conduct the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Memorials may be directed towards Jay County Alzheimer's Association.
