Mildred Denton

Mildred (Barker) Denton, 95 of Union City was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on April 18, 2023.  Predeceased by her loving parents Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Barker.  She was married to her soulmate Dewey Denton on December 30, 1946 who went to Heaven in 2010 along with her beloved son Dewey Gene Denton who joined his father in 2011.

She is survived by her oldest daughter and caretaker for the past 5 years, Carolyn Sue Caldwell of Union City, also daughter Patty Starr (husband Duane), daughter Debra Nixon (husband Ed) and son Ken Denton (wife Sidney Rene) all of Portland.  22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. One sister Dessie Fox of Asheville, N.C. and three sisters-in-law; Jackie Barker, Nancy Tope and Charlotte Montgomery.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and 4 brothers Paul, Hershal, Kenneth and Charles Barker and 2 sisters Edna May Barker and Delores Barker.

She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Mildred attended Randolph Friends Church in rural Ridgeville.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Randolph Friends Church, 6531 N. 300 W., Ridgeville, Indiana 47380.  Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.  Pastor Jonathon Edwards will officiate and burial will follow at Salem Baptist Cemetery in Greensfork, Indiana.

Memorials may be directed towards Everheart Hospice or Randolph Friends Church.
