Mildred Huey

Mildred “Mrs. H.” Huey, age 87, a resident of Portland, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.
Mildred was born on October 2, 1926, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Floyd and Bertha (Ashley) Smith. She graduated from Governor I.P. Gray High School in 1945 and worked for Hooks in Portland for 17 ½ years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Portland. Mildred married Darwin K. Huey on September 21, 1947 and he passed away on April 4, 2003.

1 foster daughter: Barbara Grieshop-Fullenkamp (husband Loren) – rural Portland, Idniana
2 foster grandchildren: Christopher Grieshop (wife Jodi) – Portland, Indiana
Jonathon Grieshop – Pendleton, Indiana
2 foster great grandchildren: Hayley Grieshop – Portland, Indiana
Carly Grieshop – Portland, Indiana
Several nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Dewey Miller will officiate and burial will follow in the Little Salamonia Cemetery, southeast of Portland.
