Nancy Swingley

Nancy Swingley, age 92, a resident of Portland, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.

Nancy was born January 31, 1934, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Baughman) Shultz. She graduated from Pennville High School in 1952. Nancy worked at Pennville State Bank, Citizens Bank, First National Bank, Merchants Bank and Pacesetter Bank. Nancy was co-owner of J&N Texas Longhorn Ranch. She attended Sanctuary United Methodist Church in Marna, Arizona, East Springfield United Methodist Church in Lagrange and Cornerstone Church of Pennville. Other memberships include the Portland American Legion Auxiliary, Portland Moose Auxiliary, and Beta Sigma Pi.

Nancy was previously married to Kenneth Rippy and married Alton Swingley on January 10, 1976.

Her step-children: Scott Swingley (wife Diana) – Portland, Indiana

Steve Swingley (wife Denise) – Portland, Indiana

Stacy Swingley (wife Jodi) – Cody, Wyoming

9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at IOOF Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville.

Memorials may be directed towards Cornerstone Church of Pennville or Keystone Hospice.
