Norma Spahr, age 89 a former resident of Portland passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Harbour Manor in Noblesville, Indiana. She was a longtime member of the Blaine United Methodist Church and was the church organist. She and her husband farmed in Greene Township, Jay County for many years. In 1971 Norma and her husband started Spahr Sales and Service on Highway 67 and Tyson Rd in Portland. She also was an organist for many years at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
Norma Spahr was born January 25, 1927 in Noblesville, Indiana, the daughter of Artie and Charity (Whitmore) Ridgway. She married James Spahr on August 14, 1949 and he passed away in 2003

1 Son: Dr. Roger Spahr (wife-Karen), Indianapolis, Indiana
1 Daughter: Sally Detwiler (husband-Paul), New Albany, Indiana
3 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren
Visitation will be held from 10am-1pm on Wednesday at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Phillips will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
