Paul Stant

Paul L. Stant, age 67, a resident of Portland, passed away on Wednesday at Albany Health and Rehab in Albany, Indiana Paul was born on June 24, 1953, in Liberty, Indiana, the son of Paul W. and Jennie (Aker) Stant.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Jay County Retirement Center in Portland.  Paul married Patty Vanderbur on May 21, 2005. Survivors include: His wife:  Patty Stant – Portland, Indiana 1 son:  Christopher Stant (wife Mindy) – Dallas, Texas 2 step-sons:  Pat Wells (wife Melissa) – Portland, Indiana Brad Wells – Portland, Indiana 1 step-daughter:  Stacy Richardson (husband 06Robert) – Pennville, Indiana 6 brothers:  Richard Stant – Portland, Indiana Jeff Stant – Murray, Utah Tom Stant – Portland, Indiana Dennis Stant (wife Kim) – Winchester, Indiana Steven Stant (wife Juanita) – Muncie, Indiana Michael Stant – Murray, Utah 2 sisters:  Kim Abbott – Clarksville, TN Tina Fisher (husband Randy) – Portland, Indiana 6 step-grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters Several nieces and nephews Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-6 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  A service to celebrate Paul’s life will follow at 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Pastor Earl Doll will officiate the service and American Legion Post #211 of Portland will conduct military rites at the funeral home.
