Phil Blakely, age 67, a resident of rural Redkey, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his home.
Phil was born on September 20, 1954, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Jay and Martha (Hawley) Blakely. He graduated in 1973 from Madison Heights High School in Anderson. Phil worked as a Redkey Reserve Police Officer, Dispatcher for Portland and Dunkirk Police Departments, Jail Officer for Jay County Sheriff’s Department and Pepsi Co. in Muncie. He married Amy Grady on September 30, 2005.

Several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Blakely.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-3 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Phil’s life will follow at 3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed towards the Museum of the Soldier in Portland or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
