Phyllis L. Fowler, age 87, a resident of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Pink Knoll Rehabilitation Center in Winchester. She was a former resident of Jay County, living in Pike Township.
Phyllis was born on March 27, 1927, in Randolph County, Indiana the daughter of Clarence and Margaret (Stahr) Keener. She graduated from Saratoga High School in 1945 and married Paul Fowler on June 13, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1994. She and her husband farmed in Pike and Madison Township for many years. She also worked for Campbell Soups in Saratoga from 1959 to 1979. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Portland, Farmland American Legion Auxiliary, and Pike Township Home Extension Club.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Burial will follow in the New Pittsburg Cemetery, south of Portland on the Jay/Randolph County Line.
