Ray Litmer

Ray Litmer, age 59, a resident of Portland, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis from injuries sustained in a car accident on October 1, 2018 in Jay County.

Ray was born on January 16, 1959, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Eugene and Rosemary (Link) Litmer.  He graduated from St. Henry High School in 1978 and worked for Cooper Farms in St. Henry, Ohio.  He married Jody Thomas on November 3, 1984.

His wife of 33 years:  Jody Litmer – Portland, Indiana

1 son:  Bradley Litmer (wife Janel) – Dunkirk, Indiana

2 daughters:  Amanda Cox (husband Corey) – Portland, Indiana

Tyra Litmer – Portland, Indiana

2 sisters:  May Jackson (husband David) – Celina, Ohio

Maryjane Schumard – Hamilton, Ohio

3 brothers:  David Litmer (wife Pat) – Burkettsville, Ohio

Mike Farmer – Celina, Ohio

Fred Schumard – Texas

5 granddaughters and several nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 12 – 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Pastor Lee Genter will officiate and burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery, southeast of Portland.

Memorials may be directed towards the Redkey Volunteer Fire Department.
