Reba E. Shawver

Reba E. Shawver, age 74, a former Portland resident, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center in Markle, Indiana.
Reba was born on July 1, 1941, in Delaware County, Indiana, the daughter of John and Mabel (Conwell) Brooks. She graduated from Driver High School in Winchester in 1960 and Amber’s Beauty School. She worked at the Jay County Retirement Center from 1981 – 2003. She attended the Portland Friends Church. Reba married Gerald D. Shawver on February 14, 1965 and he passed away on December 10, 2015.

1 son: Steven Shawver – Portland, Indiana
1 daughter: Kimberly Dreiband (husband David) – Bluffton, Indiana
1 brother: Kenneth D. Brooks (wife Joyce) – St. Charles, Missouri
3 grandchildren: Quinn Dreiband, Connor Dreiband and Luke Dreiband
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.
