Reverend Robert Sutton, age 100, a resident of Williamsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Maple Gardens in Eaton, Ohio.

Robert was born on August 31, 1926, in Randolph County, Indiana, the son of Don and Ethel (Doughty) Sutton. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II.

Throughout his life, Robert dedicated himself to education, his faith, and serving others. He worked as an educator at various schools and as an accountant for Muncie Aviation. Robert also devoted many years to his ministry, preaching at several churches throughout the area, including Evangelical Methodist Church in Portland and Union Chapel Church in rural Jay County.

Robert married Treva (Teegarden) Sutton on February 15, 1947. They shared 61 years of marriage before her passing on May 22, 2008.

His two sons: Wayne Sutton (wife Sandy) – Florida, and Mark Sutton (wife Beni) – Williamsburg, Indiana.

His brother: Otis Sutton (wife Judy) – Muncie, Indiana.

Six grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland, Indiana.

Graveside services will follow the visitation at I.O.O.F. Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville, Indiana.

Memorials may be directed towards Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene.
