Rex Clevenger, age 72, a resident of rural Portland in Madison Township, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Rex was born on May 9, 1944 in Jay County, Indiana the son of Everett and Cordelia (Shoemaker) Clevenger. He graduated from Madison Township High School in 1962 and retired from the Portland Teledyne Forge in 2006 after 40 years of service. Rex also farmed in Madison township for many years. He married Pam Wheeler on November 28, 1969 and she passed away on November 4, 2012.

2 Sons: Don Clevenger (wife Sharon) – Bigelow, Arkansas
Trey Clevenger – Birmingham, Alabama
2 Brothers: Jesse Clevenger – Matthews, Indiana
Keith Clevenger (wife Patti) – Ridgeville, Indiana
2 Sisters: Judy LeMaster (husband Leland) – Portland, Indiana
Julia Berry – Geneva, Indiana
3 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Williamson and Spencer Funeral home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Williamson and Spencer Funeral home in Portland. Pastor Larry Eads will be officiating the service. Burial will follow Antioch cemetery south east of Portland.
Donations may be directed to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
