Robert "Bob" Axe
April 9, 1940 — December 13, 2014
Robert “Bob” Axe, age 74 a former Jackson Twp. resident passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at his home in Portland. He was a 1958 graduate of Poling High School. He and his family owned and operated Axe Auto Service on CR. 250 W. in Jay County for many years. He also worked at the Portland Forge and FCC in Portland. Bob was a member of the Vintage Motorbike Club, and the Portland Moose, Eagles lodge in Portland and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 211 in Portland.
Robert Axe was born April 9, 1940 in Jay County the son of Lee Roy and Ora Frances (Frogge) Axe.

2 Daughters- Lori Fry (husband-Harry), Portland, Indiana
Diana Swingley (husband-Scott), rural Portland, Indiana
4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday.
