Roger Boyd, age 68, a resident of Portland, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015.
Roger was born on May 8, 1947, in Portland, the son of Cecil and Dessie (McKinley) Boyd. He graduated from Portland High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam. He retired from Franklin Electric in Bluffton in 2012 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Jay Lodge #87 F. & A.M. in Portland and the Portland American Legion Post #211. Roger married Sue Grim on March 17, 1979.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Masonic services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Jay Carter will officiate and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana. The Portland American Legion Post #211 will conduct military graveside rites.
Memorials may be directed towards the Riley Children’s Hospital or Jay County Humane Society.
