Ronald V. Culy, age 78, a resident of Lagrange, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Lincoln, Alabama. Ron was a former Portland resident, working at Peoples Bank in Portland as Vice President. He also worked for several years as a driver at LPI in Portland.
Ronald was born on September 6, 1936, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of Roy V. and Lois E. (Palmer) Culy. He graduated from Webster High School in Webster, Indiana and earned a Business degree from Ball State University. He was very active in his years in Portland before his retirement to Big Turkey Lake in Strohl, Indiana. He was a member of the Jay County 4-H Extension, Jay County School Board, Portland Jaycee’s, Portland Rotary Club, American Legion Post #211 of Portland, Portland Moose Lodge, Portland Elks Lodge and he served as Treasurer for the Jesse Kantner Memorial Forest.
Ronald was married to Norma Jean Garringer for 52 years.

8 grandchildren, Ashley Culy, Alissa Culy, Anna Culy, Andrea Culy, Adriane Culy, Justin Muhlenkamp, Tyler Muhlenkamp and Morgan Muhlenkamp
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery, southeast of Portland.
