Russell Dalrymple

Russell Eugene Dalrymple, age 77, a resident of Portland, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester.

Russell was born on September 21, 1945, in Portland, Indiana the son of Clarence and Betty Louise (Wilson) Dalrymple.  He graduated from Gov. I.P. Gray High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Army.  Russell was a member of the Ridgeville American Legion where he served on the honor guard.  He worked for Indiana Glass in Dunkirk, Portland Forge and FCC Indiana in Portland.  Russell married Kathryn Chapman on June 13, 1970.

His wife of 52 years:  Kathryn Dalrymple – Portland, Indiana

1 son:  Tony Dalrymple (wife Jennifer) – rural Portland, Indiana

Sister:  Ruth McCormick – Ridgeville, Indiana

Brother:  Clarence Dalrymple (wife Lolita) – Iowa, Louisiana

3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren

Several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruby Bellis.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral in Portland.  The family will be sharing memories at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Ridgeville American Legion will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Saturday.
