Ruth Sager

Ruth Sager, age 86, a resident of Batesville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 01, 2013, at St. Andrews in Batesville, Indiana. She was a former resident of Portland and Greensburg, Indiana.
Ruth was born on December 18, 1926 in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse and Dorothy (Hines) Hammers. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in Deerfield, Indiana. Ruth worked for First National Bank in Portland from 1948 until 1988 when she retired as Assistant Vice President of the bank. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Portland and the Greensburg United Methodist Church in Greensburg, Indiana. She was a member of the Portland Evening Optimist Club. Ruth married Elvin Sager on April 18, 1948 and he passed away on May 31, 2007.

2 daughters: Debra L. Flaspohler (husband Donald) - Batesville, Indiana
Cathy J. Sager (companion Joseph Calderazzo) - Washington, Indiana
1 sister: Ruby Overholser (husband Lemoine) - Portland, Indiana
4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Vance.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville.
Memorials may be directed towards the Jay County Cancer Society or Trinity United Methodist Church.
