Shirley McCoy

Shirley McCoy, age 75, a resident of Portland, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Shirley was born January 6, 1951, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur Fultz and Grace (Gilbert) Smith. She worked at Jay Garment in Portland and American Legion Post #211 of Portland. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Portland. Shirley married Homer McCoy on January 9, 1976.

2 children: Brian Pogue – Portland, Indiana

Michelle Pace (husband Eric) – Portland, Indiana

Granddaughter: Shiann Pace

Great-Granddaughter: Adilyn Vaughn

Brother: Larry Boucher – Decatur, Indiana

Brother-in-law: Wayne Bradburn – Portland, Indiana

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shawn Pogue, brother, Rick Fultz and sister, Vickie Bradburn.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Shirley’s life will follow at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed towards American Legion Post #211 of Portland.
