Sonja Yohe

Sonja Yohe, age 77, a resident of Portland, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at her home in Portland.

Sonja was born July 2, 1947 in Portland, Indiana the daughter of Cree and Treva (Batten) Uhrick. Sonja graduated from Portland High School in 1965. She worked for Island Interior in Galveston, Texas, Jay Garment, Standard Brush and Broom, Tom and Rods, Eagles, and the Portland American Legion all in Portland. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Portland American Legion Auxiliary.

Sonja married Danny Yohe on January 1, 1989 he passed away on August 4, 2004.

Her children: Jon G. Spencer – Bryant, Indiana

Kimberly Sue Gross – Trinity, Texas

Amber Dawn Wanken (husband John) – Temple, Texas

James Corle Hamner – Portland, Indiana

Cory W. Hamner (wife Jenni) – Huntsville, Texas

2 brothers: Larry Uhrick (wife Lisa) – Indianapolis, Indiana

James Uhrick (wife Jerri) – Bellevue, Ohio

Grandchildren: Annie Spencer, Brittany, Matt and Chris Hawkey, Brandon Guillen, Josh Lichtenwalner, Cyler, and Candence Hamner, Zach Fellers, Jesse Leissener  and several great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents Cree and Treva, grandson Ezekiel Bailey Gross and two brothers Don Uhrick and Vic Uhrick.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
